"No need to adjust the price – you deserve it" The story of Sunny Glassware and Anna 50,000-piece reorder

demi Sunny Glassware 2026-04-23 16:22:57

It was an ordinary Wednesday afternoon when Sunny Glassware received an inquiry from Europe. The client was Anna, a procurement manager for a home furnishing brand that had been in business for over twenty years. She was looking for a ceramic candle holder to complement her new season's collection, titled "Breath of Nature."

"We need a matte white ceramic candle holder with an evident handmade texture. The base should have a slight distressed effect – the overall style should be rustic yet refined," Anna described in detail in her email.

This was not a standard product order – the client needed a customized development.

  • The wall thickness of the ceramic candle holder needed to be controlled at 4mm – too thick would make it bulky, too thin would make it fragile.
  • The matte white glaze needed to achieve a "warm, jade-like" touch, which placed high demands on the glaze formula.
  • The distressed effect could not be too deliberate – it had to look like natural marks left by time.
  • Most importantly, the client required completion from sampling to delivery of the first batch of 3,000 pieces within 45 days.

"The timeline is really tight," Anna admitted honestly. "I've consulted two other suppliers, and both said they need at least 60 days. I watched your ceramic products on YouTube videos, and I really like the craftsmanship you've shown before."

Action: The speed and warmth of Sunny Glassware

Sunny Glassware did not commit immediately but quickly organized an internal meeting, bringing together the technical director and production masters.

After carefully studying the product drawings, the technical director pointed out: "The key to achieving 4mm wall thickness lies in mold design and slurry flow control. We need to make a dedicated precision mold."

The master volunteered: "I can handle the distressed effect by hand, polishing each piece individually. It's time-consuming, but the result will look natural."

Sampling took just one week. When the first sample came out of the kiln, the team found that the warmth of the glaze was not yet ideal. They immediately took high-definition photos and videos and sent them to Anna, while notifying the factory to adjust the glaze formula overnight.

The second sample showed significant improvement, but there was still a slight gap between the distressed effect and Anna's expectations. Sunny Glassware decided to send the physical sample to the client, along with three small sample pieces with varying degrees of distressing, so the client could touch and feel them directly.

"Sending physical samples is more effective than photos. Letting the client feel the product with their own hands is the only way to convey its quality," Sunny Glassware wrote in an email to Anna.

Turning point: Building trust

Anna was very pleasantly surprised when she received the samples. She wrote in an email: "The physical product is even more beautiful than the photos! Especially the distressed effect – it's exactly what we wanted. Your attention to detail and execution have deeply impressed me."

The order was officially confirmed. During production, Sunny Glassware reported progress to Anna twice a week and regularly sent photos and videos from the production site – from clay blank making, trimming, glazing, to kiln firing – every step was transparently presented.

One day, Anna suddenly proposed that she wanted the inner wall of the candle holder to also have a light glaze, rather than being completely unglazed. This meant that some of the semi-finished products already completed would need to be reworked.

Another supplier might have refused on the grounds that "production is already underway." But Sunny Glassware immediately assessed the feasibility with the production team.

"We can do it," the factory master said, "but it will extend the timeline by three days."

Sunny Glassware honestly informed Anna: "We can accommodate your new request. The timeline will need to be extended by three days, with completion on the 48th day – three days later than the original 45 days. To express our apologies, we will upgrade the packaging for these 3,000 pieces to custom gift boxes at no extra cost."

Anna was very moved: "Thank you for your flexibility and sincerity. Three days is absolutely fine."

Delivery: Exceeding expectations

On the 47th day, all 3,000 ceramic candle holders were completed. Sunny Glassware QC staff conducted random inspections in the workshop – each piece had a warm glaze, natural distressing, and precise dimensions.

The packaging was also exceptionally thoughtful – custom gift boxes with foam lining, the candle holders securely nestled inside, creating an unboxing experience like opening a work of art.

The goods were shipped on time and arrived at the European port two weeks later. Anna sent an unboxing video. In the video, she gently touched a candle holder and said with a smile: "It's perfect. Even more beautiful than I imagined. Thank you to the Sunny Glassware team for your professionalism and dedication."

One candle holder, a long-lasting partnership

This batch of ceramic candle holders quickly became a bestseller for Anna's brand that season. Three months later, Anna placed a reorder for 50,000 pieces and voluntarily said: "No need to adjust the price – you deserve it."

What made the team even more gratified was that Anna recommended Sunny Glassware to two other European home furnishing brands. "Sunny Glassware not only makes great products – more importantly, they treat their clients' matters as their own."

Today, this ceramic candle holder has become one of Sunny Glassware classic success stories. Sunny Glassware – more than just manufacturing, we understand your needs.
